The Web We Weave

As we are now faced with an actual battle, a legitimately named culture war, in dealing with the HHS Mandate regarding healthcare and freedom of religion, the Catholic blogosphere takes center stage. As 'ordinary' sources of news and media will likely remain "neutral" in all of this, and by that I mean heavily in favor of the new HHS mandate, the Catholic blogosphere will be the one source of truth and order for most Catholic faithful to get a true picture of what is going on.

Ironically, the Catholic blogosphere has rarely been embraced by the institutional church here in this country. So, what we see aligning is a very 'odd' partnership. The blogosphere will be going to bat for the Bishops, some of whom they have rarely found themselves defending. The Bishops will need the blogosphere to get the truth out there. This is a chance, and a time, to unite under the banner of Christ and for a legitimately crucial purpose. This is a chance for 'reform.'

The 'web' as we call it will be the battle ground for this fight. The war that we will wage will be one of freedom, religion, and morality. It is not an overstatement to say that this matter might be the most important of our time. Let us not let 'the deceiver' divide us amongst ourselves. Let us remain resolute in the search for truth and love that is Christ our Lord. Let us continue to seek the Immaculate Heart of Mary, and plead her intercession of her Son, our Savior. Let us pray for our bishops, pray for the president, and pray for our country.

Let us cut away the web of division that has plagued the Church in this country, and find in this battle a common enemy - the evil 'Culture of Death' and find a way forward that is truthful and one that unifies. Let us find peace and order in our quest to defend Holy Mother Church against the forces of evil and death.
