| St. Thomas Aquinas | by: R. León |
In our world, we need his intercession, his guidance, and his wisdom - now more than ever. We are certainly a fallen people, but where we can mend our hearts to the proper light of faith, we too must mend our minds. We must study and learn as students of the faith. We must become "chaste" in our actions as humans but also as spiritual beings. We must protect ourselves from the vices that wish to draw us away from God, sometimes this means sharpening not only our spirit and will, but also our mind.
To be stronger, and better, Catholics we need to attack the study of our faith with vigor and passion. We must become like St. Thomas Aquinas and dive our whole heart and our whole mind into our faith. He must become for us a guiding light to how we must shape both our heart and mind around the life, death, and passion of Christ.
Grant me, O Lord,
an ever-watchful heart that no alien thought can lure away from You;
a noble heart that no base love can sully;
an upright heart that no perverse intention can lead astray;
an invincible heart that no distress can overcome;
an unfettered heart that no impetuous desires can enchain.
