(Just like Conversion Diary’s 7 Quick-Takes Friday, but only half as long, and nearly half as good.)
1.
Again, it is Wednesday... I almost had this out on Tuesday. Does that mean I should have 4 1/2 takes? OR just 2 1/2? Someone clear this up for me.

I am not funny today. Well, some say I am never funny. My point is, I have a lot of posts on my mind, plus I am trying to accomplish quite a bit this week. Most notably, the Baptism of my son is on Saturday. It is in the EF, and I am planning, coordinating, and doing all of that such stuff. It is exciting and fun, but at the same time, it is time consuming, and I want to make sure I do it all "correctly." So please, pardon the dust.

I am trying to figure out a way to get more "interaction" on my blog. I have started posting some some only to Twitter and Facebook. Sort of like a "Blog" lite. Interestingly I am getting more "conversation" and comments there, than here. Does anyone have any ideas on how to coordinate Blogs, FB, and Twitter. My posts auto-post to FB and Twitter, but how do you all utilize FB and Twitter? Do you post things there, you dont post on your blog? How do you keep it all straight?
3 1/2.
Book suggestions please. I have a gift certificate I want to use at Aquinas and More but whenever I go there to select my books, I draw a blank, then get overwhelmed, and end up not getting anything because I cant decide. So please, help out my OCD/ADD and give me some suggestions.
Thanks Larry for adding more chaos to my life.

Congrats on your son's upcoming Baptism. I'm sure it will be valid, and if I were to say otherwise, I'm pretty sure a certain canon lawyer would soon correct me. :-)
As to books...I have a couple suggestions. "The Spiritual Combat" by Scupoli; "The Sinner's Guide" by Ven. Louis of Granada; and "The End of the Present World" by Fr Charles Arminjon (a fave of St. Therese of Lisieux).

Joseph,
1. Congratulations!
2. Definitely do the tour of the other 3.5'ers, because seeing your comment on my place reminded me I wanted to check out yours. People are forgetful. So much goofing off to do, so little time.
3. But my experience is that blog commenting is very small compared to the number of readers. Your choice of topics and the way you post (such as asking for reader input) makes a difference for sure. But the format of a combox just doesn't allow for the same types of discussion as other new media.
3.5 *Right now*, Larry has to take who he can get in his little army-building scheme. So you can post however many you want. But one day . . .
As Jennifer said, blog interaction can be challenging to get. For instance, I made a post on a blog and got zero comments (though eventually one trickled in), but I shared it on facebook and got 20 or 30.
I used to have everything automated: blog would auto-tweet the link to it which would auto-import and share on facebook. I stopped doing that and now share specific posts on one forum or the other or both (and I include google+ from time to time).
It takes time to build a readership, and most will be lurkers. You really only need though about ten or fifteen people who will actively comment, because even just two or three people can get into a big discussion. Finding topics which are interesting to you and to your readership so that a discussion will happen is a challenge. Keep at it!
Hey, congrats on the Baptism. How exciting!
Not that I know anything about blogging at this point, so don't take it from me, but I've heard others in the know say that as far as interaction - your own responses to other people's comments can cause people to be more likely to participate. I know, that was articulate. But basically your comments help :)
Seems like Brandon Vogt's blog would have some great book suggestions. I have none right now.
Larry: I dont get the signature :P
Jennifer: I already most of the other in this little scheme :) Once they have you in their teeth, they dont let go.
Devin: I once had that core group, took a 3 month hiatus, and ever since, about the only readers I have are the Google Bots. They are nice and all, you just cant walk with them outside in the rain.
I think you are right though, mixing things up a bit might create a little bit of energy.
Two Catholic novels I've recently read and really loved are both by Michael O'Brien, "Father Elijah"
(about the coming end-times) and "Theopolis"
(about 1st century times and the apostle Luke). Both novels are outstanding!
Joe - you thanked me for bringing chaos into your life. So I signed my comment "K Oss". Get it? Oh well - it was lame.
Wow - looks just like your last name! I just noticed that! That was totally unintentional!
