2012: A New Outlook

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all reading this!

This year has been quite interesting for me, both the personal level, and from the blogging perspective. I would love to do some sort of recap, as many other blogs have done, but I have been a little under the weather the past few days, so please check back soon for that.

I did want to share with you though the new "LOGO" of the blog. For a long time I wanted something that  captured my spirituality and charism, something that was distinct, clean and expressive. There was an artist that always seemed to draw me in with his clip art, logos, and art. So, when R. León of Corpus Immobilis... said he would make something up for me, I was thrilled!

Logo Description:
It is a "shield" design, which calls to mind heraldic design. The images are "St. Michael" and "The Dragon." The colors utilized are intentional - the black and white symbolize both the Dominican Order and its spirituality as well as the black and white nature of "Good and Evil." There is a "Yin/Yang" look to the logo, it is not meant to call to mind eastern spirituality, but instead to show how the two concepts of "Good" and "Evil" are incompatible with one another.
That being said, the above LOGO will be used on all things "Defend Us In Battle" - (Facebook, Twitter, Google+, etc...) I will keep the beautiful header by Vincenzo.

May this new year be a time of many blessings and a may St. Michael and all the Holy Angels continue to...
Defend Us In Battle

Happy New Year to you and your family, Joe.

Great logo - when are the coffee cups coming out? LOL!

I'd have to ask the artist if I could do that :)
In reality, I do want a sweatshirt made of the logo, just cuz it is so awesome! And maybe actually a mug. Not because it is my blog, but cuz the concept/idea of "DEFEND US IN BATTLE" makes me smile.

And as much as I need the money right now, if I did "make" stuff with the logo... I would either donate any "profit" or I would make them "at cost." I

Maybe a "link" somewhere on it though :)

Beer mug! Some hat/lapel pins would be cool, maybe some vinyl stickers.
