Hope it speaks to you.
Please feel free to share it and link it on your blog.
I didn't advertise my blog address on the actual video because I wanted it to be used as something stand-alone.
This project has produced joy in my heart and hope in my soul.
Maybe it will do the same for some of you.
P.S.:
I am trying to figure out a way to make it availble, per some requests, for use at youth groups, catechism, and in other situations where the YouTube version might not work. I will keep you all updated. I can't sell it or "charge" for its production since I don't own the rights to the photos or music. So I am trying to figure out a legal "Fair Use" way to get it into the hands that want to use it for educational and evangelization purposes.
Special inspirational h/t to: Mindy, Marc, Rebecca, Terry, Dan, Larry, and Father Acervo.

Great job!
Love it!
Linkin' to it - great job!
A: Love the shots from NCYC 2009! My home archdiocese were co-host's and it was AWESOME!
B: Can I borrow this to show my youth group? We are in need of "Catholic-ing" it up and this might help motivate people.
Please use this for whatever. I made it for educational and evangelization purposes.
Well done, Joe.
WOW! Nicely done! With your permission I'd like to show this to my junior high kiddos.

Thank you so much! Makes me proud to be Catholic. I would love to use this in a blog I'm just starting.
Many thanks for this video. I have posted it on our blog. Very. Much. Needed.
Good job. Showed the kids; they loved it as much as I did.
Very nice, but the music, not so much.
Beautiful! It brought a smile to my day and filled me with joy for our Church. Thank you!
This is magnificent. With your permission, I will post a copy of this to my blog, with attribution of course. This needs to be shared.

Great video, Joseph, and it was heartening to see one of our (God Willing) soon to be Diocesan priests @1:40 - Ruben Chen.

Your first video? Wonderful and inspirational! Posted it on my blog.
This is beautiful Joe - very well done. It filled my heart with joy. Thanks.
We are Catholic.
Wonderful! Totally plan to use this with my high school students and parents at our kick off meeting this fall.
(tip- if you, like me, don't have wireless internet at your parish/school (sigh) I frequently rip videos from youtube and play them directly from my computer via projector. Keepvid.com and savevid.com are two places to do this easily)
Great job, Joseph!
Like Maggie, I use keepvid to capture videos from youtube to show to my junior high religious ed students.
This one is going to kick off my first class next month.
rarely comment on
blogs but I have to say this brought me to tears of joy.
Awesome video! Thank you.
Great job Joe! Sharing it now!
This will go viral...very good use of photos and captions!
Great video!
This is about to go viral...this is very well done and attractive to a wide audience.
Joseph - what a terrific video! It certainly deserves to be seen everywhere.
What Church was used at 2:21. Wow!!
Off topic - I read there was an earthquake in the Aleutians today.
God bless you!
Well done!
I pray that it will speak to young people.
Thank you for your effort and God bless you and those you reach.
Awesome! Thank you for sharing it and allowing it to be shared by others! May it lead to many conversions!
At first I thought this was a joke. "We are tradition" coupled with modern music, "We are beauty" coupled with ugly screaming? This is totally disordered. I know many will disagree with my tastes, but I'm not talking tastes -- I'm talking objective truth. There is an objective schizophrenia in this message, and it is objectively ugly. If I saw "We are ProChoice" with a picture of aborted babies, I would not be any more shocked.
I don't intend to discourage anyone, just to be truthful. If the video was broadcast with sacred (or at least beautiful) music, my comments would have been much different. Please consider re-rendering this video with an appropriate sound track.
Rock Eagle
Rock Eagle - While I found the music jarring, I recognize that at a certain point in my youth....and this is geared to youth....that I was not where I am today on sacred music. Back then, this music might have appealed to me...something "familiar" introducing me to something unknown, the truths of the Catholic faith.
This video may "meet them where they are." I imagine that there are others, like me, who continue on a journey of learning the True, the Good and the Beautiful. It may not be the music for you and I...today. We may recognize it as discordant, but I *think* Joe hopes that for those who this is aimed at, their journey is just beginning. As a homeschooler, I see that for those learning new ideas, they grasp it in stages, not all at once.
I too hope that Joe will make more of these. The images and words are inspiring and I think Joe's audience is widening.
Awesome.
This will be part of the first Grade 8 religion class of the school year.
Many Thanks.
I love the video! The music is upbeat, the photos touched my heart, and the words spoke to my spirit. I would love to share it with the adults of my parish in my adult formation ministry. Please let me know if you find a way to forward it so I can share it with them.
I am wa-a-a-a-a-ay past the demographic this is intended for, but I LOVE it! The rock song"We Are" may be a bit off-putting for some, but I think it works, coupled with the fantastic stills. The heart, soul, and work you put into this are most admirable. Congrats --- and I hope that young people everywhere get to to see it!
This is excellent. Saw it at the Deacon's Bench. The only thing that twinges me is the word papist, b/c of the bad associations some of us have with the word (nothing against the Pope at all, just the word!).
If it were me, I would have thrown in a few more stills of how Catholics all over the world are helping others through various aid organizations....
But this is a really great achievement. Good for you!
Way to make my Labor Day MORE beautiful! Dobn't know where you got each photo, but when a fruiend asked if it was my son playing the mandolin in the pic of the young Dominican student brothers, my heatrt leapt for joy! May all who see this pray without ceasing for our youth..especially for vocations to the priesthood and religious life desparately needed in our world today! Thanks so much for making this beeautiful little peek into heaven on earth for us to savor! Mamma Gina
It is a lovely video. Unfortunately for some reason you've used "Papist" to describe Catholics. "Papist" is a derogatory term used by non-Catholics. It is the Catholic equivalent of a racial slur.
I am blown away by the response and comments to the video. I honestly made it over the course of two nights and meant for it only to be seen by a group of 5-10 teens.
I don't want to address every comment, I think it is important to let these things stand for themselves but I did want to address a few points:
• The term "Papist" was used on purpose. The American Papist blog does the same thing: re-claiming the word for good and God. In the past it was used as a slur because Catholics had allegiance to the Pope... and that we do. If we can make the word mean "loyal to the Pope" then we have reclaimed it... this is another step in that effort.
• As for the use of the secular Country song, I think there is something about taking a message and "meeting folks where they are". This was made for some teens, and I wanted them to be focused on the messages and images and the sound be a distant third. The song isn't "big" but the band is... the familiarity will disarm them hopefully and will draw them in. It is the opposite of making the faith RELEVANT to teens, it is in fact a way to make the secular IRRELEVANT.
There are lots of ways I could have made this video, especially looking at it in retrospect. That being said, it is what it is, something to hook a few people and bring a little joy to their hearts. I am glad most of you like it, and I am happy to see that not everyone does. I think that if something doesn't have a few detractors, especially amongst those that you respect and appreciate, then you haven't taken a risk... and haven't fully put yourself out there.

Well done. A friend of mine sent me this site and her son is in the video. I was brought to tears and thought how blessed we are to be Catholic. Keep up the good work. God Bless you!
Hello Joseph, I´d like permission to translate it to portuguese and advertise it here in Rio de Janeiro.
Ma Thereza: email me, I would love to have the words translated into Portugese!
I love the word art of Catholic. you used in your video. Can I get a copy of that?
This is awesome. I just posted it on my site. Thank you so much.
I can't imagine why any Catholic would not like this Joe. I'm not sure if they all appreciate my Catholic version of 'Imagine', for which the atheists hate me. I think it's worth recommending to your youth group (fjdalessio.wordpress.com/imagine). God bless
Wow, what a great video. I was told to watch it and look for a surprise near the end. Sure enough, there is my daughter! An old pic but can't believe you found that pic. Thank you and God Bless!
My very orthodox Catholic priest/monk/friend/teacher says "Very cool, thanks for sending it".
This video is really beautiful!!! Congratulations!
Wonderful video, Joseph! So positive, so broad, so true.
"Papist" is a glorious term! Á mark of honour for us. Christ carries His wounds in Heaven and they are marks of beauty. Why should we be ashamed of being "insulted" on His behalf?
A for the music, I agree with those who said is was dissonant trash. Nevertheless, the work you have done will draw countless teens (plus many older folk) to Christ. If you do something in the future with sacred music (or even edit the current version) then you might draw, along with more teens, many priests and bishops too!
God bless you always and everywhere.
The music was stupid, the stills were great.
Except for JPII's picture, because of the precipitous collapse of the Faith under his watch.
AWESOME video!! Thanks for Strengthening the Body of Christ with it!
I love the images - very clever composition
Love this video, I found it thru FaceBook and plan to use it this weekend as part of a life night on the sacramental nature of the church. Where can I find the word CATHOLIC that you used? I like the symbols incorporated into the word!
